Bill Ryder-Jones is medeoprichter van The Coral, waarin hij op de eerste 5 platen als leadgitarist te horen is. Na zijn vertrek uit The Coral werkt hij als componist voor films en brengt hij tot op heden een 5-tal albums uit; waarvan ik er echt wel een paar compleet gemist heb…
Op 12 januari verscheen na een stilte van 5 jaar ‘Iechyd Da’.
Vooral de Engelse pers komt superlatieven tekort om de plaat te prijzen.
Op het eerste gehoor kwam het niet echt bij mij binnen, maar na meerdere draaibeurten begon het kwartje te vallen.
Voor liefhebbers van ‘Loaded’ van The Velvet Underground, The Coral en sowieso Engelse singer-songwriters.
