PAOLO NUTINI – Last Night in the Bittersweet (2lp/cd) 34,95/18,95

Paolo Nutini’s vorige lp/cd ‘Caustic Love’ verscheen in 2014 en was zeker in Europa een gigantisch succes. Voor de opvolger ‘Last Night in the Bittersweet’ nam hij de tijd, volgens de geruchten was hij meer in de kroeg te vinden dan in de studio. Maar het op 1 juli uitgekomen album voldoet aan de hoge verwachtingen. Gevarieerder dan zijn voorganger met een fantastische zanger die het af en toe uit zijn tenen lijkt te halen. Kortom, 16 nummers, 71 minuten lekker, topplaat.

CATERINA BARBIERI – Spirit Exit (cd) 15,95

Het nieuwe Caterina Barbieri album Spirit Exit is er eentje om heel blij van te worden.
Haar sterkste album tot nu, vooral ook de variatie die te horen is.
Op enkele tracks is haar stem ook te horen, iets waar ze zich eerder ver van hield.
Het geluid is echter mystieker en sprankelender dan ooit.
Gloedvolle en gelaagde elektronica van een zeer hoog niveau.
En zeer herkenbaar Barbieri, vergelijkingen zijn vrijwel onmogelijk.
Een intens album, het meermaals beluisteren zal beloond worden.
Onmisbaar voor iedere synth liefhebber!
