Hawkwind – The Future Never Waits (cd) 19,95

Dat een band, 54 jaar na oprichting, anno nu nog steeds relevant kan zijn, bewijst Hawkwind met hun nieuwe album The Future Never Waits.
Nog altijd is het karakteristieke stemgeluid van Dave Brock, 81 jaar inmiddels, erg goed aanwezig, evenals de spacerock waar de band groot mee geworden is.
Echter de toevoeging van toetsenist Thighpaulsandra geeft dit album een verrassende vernieuwing. Hij werkte al eerder o.a. met Julian Cope, Spiritualized, en Coil.
Eindelijk is de vervanger van synthesist Tim Blake gevonden voor de hoognodige space klanken.
The Future Never Waits is daarmee het beste Hawkwind album sinds tijden. The Future is now…
