‘When Do We Get Paid’ is de eerste (en enige) lp van de soulgroep Staples Jr. Singers uit Memphis. Origineel uitgebracht in 1975 maar was door de kleine oplagen nergens te krijgen, iets wat vorig jaar door label LuakaBop nog eens dunnetjes overgedaan is. Nu is hij eindelijk goed te krijgen en dat is goed nieuws voor fans van ouderwetse soul! De bandnaam van de uit Memphis afkomstige familie Brown zegt eigenlijk alles wat je moet weten. De bandnaam kregen zij door de grote gelijkenis in stijl van de aanwezigen van hun optredens en aangezien er veel slechtere bands zijn om mee vergeleken te worden deden ze hier niet te moeilijk over. Ik zou zeggen: wees er snel bij want geen idee hoe lang hij dit keer te krijgen is en deze wil je niet missen!
